Newport News Public Library (NNPL) is thrilled to announce the launch of streaming video services through our RBdigital platform starting on Monday, December 16! RBdigital delivers all your favorite types of content that’s easy to stream on-demand to just about any digital device. Patrons have free access to the best in British TV, indie movies, documentaries, live concerts, and classic movies.
Your library card opens a digital door to Acorn TV. Hailed as a “glorious streaming service…an essential must-have” by The Hollywood Reporter, Acorn TV streams world-class mysteries, dramas, and comedies from Britain including A Place to Call Home, Murdoch Mysteries, and Doc Martin.
Movie lovers have instant access to IndieFlix. The streaming channel offers more than 7,000 high-quality shorts and features. Watch films from major festivals including Sundance, Cannes, Tribeca, and much more! The service also has documentaries and classic TV shows from the 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s.
Stingray Qello allows patrons access to more than 1,500 of the most amazing live moments in music and music documentaries. The catalog spans more than 30 genres from classical to rock, reggae to country. People will be able to enjoy music from the 1920s to today’s hottest artists including Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, The Doors, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, and so many more.
People who want to take classes can stream the Great Courses Library Collection taught by college professors from around the world. There are hundreds of topics to study including health, history, language arts, and science.
Patrons who have used RBdigital in the past for eMagazines and eAudiobooks will be able to log-in with the same credentials for those services to see this new content. People who are new to the RBdigital services the library provides must create an account.
